ABOUT

Baltimore-based

artist Daniel Neiman

also known as

Captain Morris has

been writing music

since the age of 7.

Now 17, Neiman

remembers fondly

of filling endless

cassette tapes with

recordings of him

and his sister

playing pretend hosts

for a radio station.

Fueled by various genres as a young kid, Neiman since the beginning has been a devoted music fan. Inspired by Jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Duke Ellington, as well as alternative heroes Elvis Costello, Talking Heads, and the Cure, Neiman has developed a musical identity true to his own.

His style consists of incredibly dense music composition and layering. Lyrics that walk the line between sincerity and irony, taking on a surreal persona with confrontational and poignant lyricism.

The talented young musician wrote, performed, recorded, and produced his upcoming album, Interviewee in his home studio in Baltimore.
